ViVa! Zorggroep provides senior care in the Kennemerland region (North Holland). ViVa! Zorggroep focuses specifically on vulnerable elderly and chronically ill people in its region and offers a wide range of home and district nursing care. This care and support is provided by more than 3,600 dedicated professionals.
The primary aim is to ensure that seniors can be cared for at home for as long as possible. Once this is no longer possible, ViVa! offers many different living options to meet residents' individual personal wishes.
The challenge
ViVa! Zorggroep is always looking for innovative new ways to enrich the lives of the elderly and to improve caregivers' knowledge.
For staff training, they were looking for a solution that would allow medical colleagues to look over caregivers' shoulders during wound care without having to be physically on site. This led them to the idea of doing so with the help of smart glasses.
The solution
After in-depth consultation with VR Expert and selection of the hardware, ViVa! Zorggroep was able to put its ideas into practice.
For remote assistance during wound care, they selected the RealWear Navigator 500 together with Microsoft Teams remote support software. This allows medical colleagues to watch the caregiver perform wound care and to provide advice and support while it is being carried out. As a result, employees become better trained and learn how to treat wounds properly, better and faster.
